One of the highlights of the NSW Central Coast calendar is the annual Brisbane Water Oyster Festival, where you can buy fresh oysters direct from local growers.
Apart from some rollicking good fun, the festival is a great opportunity to chat with the growers about anything to do with oyster farming, including sustainability and the importance of oysters to the ecosystem.
The 2025 festival will be held on Sunday, November 9, in Lions Park at Woy Woy. Food, wine and live entertainment will be on offer from 10am to 4pm.
Kick back to the sounds of Jellybean Jam and Swift Kick, browse the craft stalls, or join in the fun of the ‘How Many Oysters Can You Eat In 30 Seconds’ competition which takes place on stage throughout the day. The winner will take home a trophy, prize, and some epic bragging rights.
It’s easy to get to the festival. You can take the Palm Beach or Central Coast ferry and disembark at Woy Woy wharf, or you can take the train and walk from Woy Woy Station (it’s an easy walk).
For those who wish to drive, park at the Oval Avenue and Station carparks or take the free shuttle bus which will do a circuit with stops at the festival, Ettalong Beach wharf, and Deep Water Plaza carpark.
